Jr. Ol’ Man of the Sea & USODA Mid-America Championship

ATTENTION!! The 2017 Jr. Ol’Man of the Sea & USODA Mid-America Champions will take place at Fort Worth Boat Club, September 9th & 10th.  Registration is open for Optis on the USODA website HERE and Lasers/Club 420s can register through the TSA website HERE.

2017 I420 and C420 Events

I420 Open Europeans

The I420 Open Europeans wrapped up last July 30th in Greece with the participation of 3 sailors from Team Lakewood. Weather cooperated and the full program was completed, with 12 races sailed. Dylan Ascensios was the best USA finisher sailing with Nick Chisari from LISOT and finishing in a great 14th position overall. The other two Lakewood sailors, Zane Rogers and Hunter Skinner, got 23rd overall and third American crew in the overall.

I420 Youth Europeans

Dylan Ascensios with his crew Nick Chisari from LISOT are currently competing at the I420 Youth Europeans, which are being organized by the Fragile della Vela Riva in Italy. They are currently sitting in 5th overall after the first two days! Best of luck for the next days, keep up the good work!

C420 Nationals

The C420 Nationals were organized by Wianno Yacht Club, MA and 153 sailors participating in the Regatta. Alex Wise, who’s been spending one month in the North practicing in C420, was the only sailor representing Lakewood and finishing 84th overall sailing with his crew Jakob Sutton.

C420 North Americans

The C420 North Americans finished on July 28th organized by the Buffalo Canoe Club in Ontario, Canada. Grace and Kelly Bates were the crew representing Lakewood at this Championships finishing 77th overall and13th in Silver gaining a very valuable experience for the future!
